Subscriptions

Recurring payments, with nobody charged automatically.

Each period is an order your customer pays, made as easy as it can be.

Why it works this way

Nobody can pull money from a customer's wallet.

In self-custody neither you nor Orrerie can take money from a payer's wallet on a schedule. So each period is its own order.

  • The customer may pay 3, 6 or 12 periods at once, at a discount you choose.
  • Paying early loses nothing: the next period runs from the end of the current one.
  • Each period is paid from any wallet, on the ordinary checkout.

Your customer's page

One page to see it, pay ahead or cancel.

It shows the product, the date it is paid until and past payments, with buttons to pay the next period or cancel. It opens with a secret only the link holds.

  • It does not renew by itself.
  • A change of price applies from the next order.

Around a renewal

Due, past due, lapsed: each step is told to you.

Before a period ends the next order is made. Unpaid at the end, the subscription is past due for the grace time you set, 3 days by default; then it lapses and your own system decides what to switch off.

  • Your server is told about each step by a signed webhook.
  • Orrerie does not email your customers yet: you send them the link to each period's order.
  • A customer who paid with the Orrerie app can switch on Remind me in Orrerie, and renew with one approval.
  • The customer can restart at any time.
