Start with your account

In the app, choose Continue with email and verify the email linked to Orrerie. Your existing wallet records and synced app data return without creating new wallets.

Email sign-in does not restore a signing key. If the matching key is still stored on this phone, unlock it as usual. On a new phone, use one of the dedicated recovery paths below.

Understand your three owners

The phone, server and offline recovery card each hold one signing key. The card is one part of your recovery setup. It cannot spend by itself.

If one owner is lost, the remaining two can provide a recovery path. If two owners are lost, the wallet’s two-of-three design cannot restore access.

Restore with your phone words

In Account → Keys & recovery, choose Restore phone keys. Select Funding or Spot and enter the phone recovery words saved for that wallet set. On a new phone, choose a passphrase to protect the restored key. If an encrypted key is already stored here, use its existing passphrase.

The app checks those words against every registered phone owner for the selected wallet set before saving the encrypted key. Matching phone-word restoration keeps the existing owners and addresses and requires no on-chain transaction.

Funding and Spot have separate phone keys. Restore each wallet set with its own matching words. Your offline card contains a different owner and belongs in the separate offline recovery flow.

Recover with the offline card

If the phone key and its backup are lost, the offline owner and server can authorize a replacement through the app’s dedicated recovery flow. Prepare and save the new phone backup before reviewing the recovery transactions.

Owner replacement may require network fees and confirmations. Bitcoin-family wallets use a transfer to a new address; other supported wallets update their owners. Follow the app’s exact review and wait for confirmation before relying on the replacement.

Recovery requires completed three-owner setup. TRON wallets that were never activated still need the original phone key.

Keep a Recovery kit

A Recovery kit is a file the app creates on your phone after you confirm with Face ID or your passcode. It lists the public details of your wallets: each Funding and Spot wallet address you have set up, including earlier owner versions, the public keys or addresses of their three owners and your Personal Gas addresses. It contains no recovery words or private keys, and Orrerie does not receive it.

In Account → Keys & recovery, choose Recovery kit, then save the file somewhere you can reach without your phone, such as your computer. The app first refreshes your wallet records from Orrerie, so export the kit while Orrerie is available, and export a new one after your wallets or owners change. Anyone who has the file can see your addresses and balances, so keep it private.

Recover without Orrerie

The Orrerie Recovery tool is a single file that moves your assets with your phone and offline-card recovery words, without Orrerie’s servers. It covers Funding and Spot on all eleven networks, and your Personal Gas phrase can pay EVM and Solana network fees. Download it from recover.orrerie.com while everything works, and keep a copy on your computer.

Check the file before you enter any words. Its SHA-256 must match the release notes at recover.orrerie.com, and the release key fingerprint on its first screen must read 1B37 D725 CDF1 168B 8840 AF80 C9C6 B3F3 with a valid signature. The app’s Recovery kit screen shows the same fingerprint. The page at recover.orrerie.com only offers the download; it never accepts recovery words. Open your saved copy in Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari on a computer.

With your Recovery kit loaded, the tool shows your balances before it asks for any words. Words stay in that browser tab and are wiped when you finish, hide the tab or leave it idle for two minutes. To read balances and send transactions, the tool connects directly to public blockchain endpoints named in the provider directory, and those operators see your IP address, browser details and the addresses requested. Without a kit, it can find EVM Safes only, through an optional Safe lookup.

Check your recovery setup

Use Recovery Inventory and the app’s dedicated Recovery test to check your preparations. Knowing that a backup exists is different from knowing that it works.

Face ID and a Spot PIN make everyday access easier. They do not replace your passphrase or recovery material.

Personal Gas uses a separate phrase for its EVM, Solana and TRON fee keys. Back it up separately from Funding and Spot owners. Email and asset-wallet recovery words do not recreate it. Supported Solana recovery transactions need SOL for fees and required rent in your personal gas Solana address.

If something goes wrong

If a device is lost or you suspect a compromise, use an uncompromised device to review available freeze and access controls. Save useful details without copying secrets.

Use phone-word restoration when the matching backup is available. Use offline-card recovery only when you intend to replace the phone owner. If a recovery transaction is pending, check its saved status before trying again.

Keep your secrets private

Support can discuss a problem without seeing your seed phrase, private key, PIN, passphrase or recovery card. Never enter that material into a website, including this one and recover.orrerie.com, or send it by email.

Contact hello@orrerie.com with a description of what happened and which app screen you can still access.

Frequently asked questions

What exactly is on the offline recovery card?

It contains the recovery material for the offline owner, one of the wallet’s three owners. It is not the phone’s everyday unlock code or a complete recovery solution by itself. Protect it as a signing secret. Someone who obtains it has one part of the authority needed to move funds.

Can I recover if I lose my phone?

Choose Continue with email in the app and verify the email linked to Orrerie to reconnect your account and restore synced app data. To sign from a new phone, restore the matching phone recovery words or use the separate offline-card recovery flow with the server. Email sign-in does not restore private keys. If Orrerie is unavailable, the Recovery tool can move your assets with your phone and offline-card words instead, using a Recovery kit you exported beforehand. The available path depends on which owners and backups remain accessible.

What if the server is unavailable?

Ordinary payments use the phone and server together, so an outage can interrupt that flow. Your phone and offline recovery card are the two owners you control, and together they meet the wallet’s threshold without Orrerie. With a Recovery kit you exported beforehand, the Orrerie Recovery tool uses their recovery words to move your assets from your own computer, without Orrerie’s servers. Export the kit and keep a checked copy of the tool while Orrerie is available.

What if two owners are lost?

The wallet cannot meet its two-of-three requirement with only one owner remaining. Orrerie cannot restore those missing signatures through an email request, a new PIN or proof that you know the wallet address. This is why keeping separate, usable recovery material is an essential part of the ownership model.

How should I store the offline material?

Keep it separate from the phone’s secrets and protect it from theft, copying and physical damage. Do not put two owner secrets in the same cloud folder, message or document. Choose storage arrangements you can still access after losing a device, and consider who could gain access to them together.

How do I check that I am prepared?

Use Recovery Inventory and the app’s dedicated Recovery test. These help you check the required artifacts and verify recovery material locally. Also keep a current Recovery kit and a checked copy of the Recovery tool on your computer. Revisit the setup after replacing a phone or changing security arrangements. A biometric unlock working today does not prove that your recovery plan will work after a loss.

Can support look at my recovery card to help?

Do not send it. Support does not need a seed phrase, private key, passphrase, PIN or recovery image to discuss the situation. Describe which device or owner is missing and what you can still access. Enter recovery words only in the app’s recovery screens or in a checked copy of the Recovery tool saved on your own computer, never on a website.

Will my addresses change during recovery?

Restoring matching phone words keeps your registered owners and addresses unchanged. Offline-card recovery replaces the phone owner and may require on-chain transactions. Bitcoin-family wallets move funds to a new address, so stop using the old one. The recovery review shows what will change before you approve it.

How do I know my Recovery tool file is genuine?

Check two things before you enter any words. The file’s SHA-256 must match the value in the release notes at recover.orrerie.com, and the first screen of the tool must show the release key fingerprint 1B37 D725 CDF1 168B 8840 AF80 C9C6 B3F3 with a valid signature, the same fingerprint the app shows on its Recovery kit screen. If either differs, close the file and don’t enter any words. The hosted page at recover.orrerie.com never accepts recovery words.

What is in a Recovery kit?

Public details only: the addresses of the wallets you have set up, the public keys or addresses of their owners, your Personal Gas addresses and the setup data needed to rebuild those addresses. It has no recovery words or private keys. The Recovery tool uses it to find and check your wallets and show balances before you enter any words. Anyone with the file can see your addresses and balances.
